Anwar Alhassan was a man from Al-Qasr, Egypt who became a Gateway Prospector. During his stay on the station he had procured a Saratov 10-megawatt portable laser weapon from a Brazilian Marine.
After an one month trip on a Heechee scoutship he found the Artifact and boarded the vessel. Only two hours later, he had just begun exploring a domed room when he was attacked by the robotic spider. He fired to the cluster of sensors it used to see. As he held the beam on the sensors, the spider continued to advance on him until it paused blinded. He tried to sneak past it but he still was killed.
